Summer church tour programme

Round Tower Churches Society

Saturday, May 13 (starts at 10am) Herringfleet NR32 5QS, then Blundeston NR32 5AJ, and finally St Peter, Gunton NR32 4LE.

A buffet lunch to celebrate 50 years of the Society will be available from 1pm and AGM about 2.15pm, at Gunton Church Hall.

Saturday Tours, first Church – all start 2.30pm

June 3 – Kilverstone St Andrew IP24 2RN, Breckles St Margaret NR17 1EW, Rockland St Peter NR17 1UR.

July 1 – Freethorpe All Saints NR13 3AH, Moulton St Mary NR13 3NW, Clippesby St Peter, NR29 5JL.

August 5 – West Lexham St Nicholas PE32 2QN, St Mary, Gayton Thorpe PE32 1PN, All Saints, Barmer PE31 1PX.

September 2 – Stockton, St Michael NR34 0HJ, Kirby Cane All Saints, NR35 2HN, St Michael, Geldeston NR34 0LW.

All are welcome to join the tours, which are free. The guides, ‘Lyn Stilgoe, Richard Barham and Michael Pollitt will highlight details of the church and its history.

Copies of the Society’s golden jubilee edition of East Anglian Round Tower Churches by Stephen Hart cost £5. The 28-page booklet, which lists all the country’s round tower churches, is for sale at the City Bookshop, Norwich, and Harleston’s bookshop. All are welcome to join the tours, which are free. The Sunday tours usually end with a service.
