Jolly green dragon leaves mark near round tower church

A charming video film featuring St Mary, Broomfield, has gone live on YouTube.

Stephen Kuta and his family share their love of round tower churches and their latest, The History and Folklore of Broomfield Church, had its premiere on Friday, November 3. His nine-year-old daughter Yhana also helped in the production of 25-minute video, which links the themes of the Essex church and a dragon, which lived in an adjacent field and even left its hoofprint nearby.

Mr Kuta, who is a historian, genealogist and author with an interest in folklore, includes a number of forgotten parish stories in the film. He has now joined the Society – and also signed up to receive the e-edition of The Round Tower.
