Join our jubilee celebrations. A special service of Festal Evensong will be held at Norwich Cathedral on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 5.30pm.

All members, friends, and supporters will be most welcome to attend. To mark the golden jubilee year of the Round Tower Churches Society, Canon Precentor, the Rev Canon Aidan Platten has offered to hold the service.

Mrs ‘Lyn Stilgoe, who is the Society’s long-serving secretary, has also been invited to take part in the Festal Evensong.

The Society, which was founded by the late Bill Goode, now has more than 500 members and has donated more than £400,000 to round tower churches across the eastern counties and even in Scotland since September 1973.

As 124 of the country’s 180 round tower churches are in Norfolk, including a handful in the city, it is appropriate that this service should be taking place in Norwich Cathedral.

Members of the Norfolk Churches Trust and the advisory council members and trustees will be most welcome at the service. Norwich Historic Churches Trust and the Churches Conservation Trust have also been invited too.

It is requested that everyone is seated by 5.20pm. There is parking at the cathedral vailable for those attending the service and also provision for those with limited mobility, including level access to the choir/ nave. Please ask the parking attendants for assistance. on the parking arrangements.
